Fastnet Race chooses Cherbourg as new destination

The famous sailing race, the « Rolex Fastnet Race » will arrive in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin during the next 2 editions, in 2021 and 2023.
In this context, a Norman delegation went to London, November 26, 2019 for the formalization of the event.
The « Rolex Fasnet Race » is a race that takes place every 2 years. It brings together nearly 400 crews from some 30 countries and nearly 3,000 sailors.
It is a 695 nautical mile (1300 km) sailing race that starts in Cowes, England. The crews then join Fastnet Rock in Ireland before joining the finish in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. The 2021 edition will run from Sunday, August 8 to Saturday, August 14.
